FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. The Nova Southeastern women’s basketball team (13-9, 6-7 SSC) will take on its final non-Sunshine State Conference opponent when it makes the short trip to West Palm Beach, Fla. to take on the Sailfish from Palm Beach Atlantic (7-17). Tip-off at the Rubin Center is slated for 6 p.m.

The Sharks are winners of two of their last three contests, downing then No. 18 Florida Southern on the road and Tampa at home. The victory over Tampa was a record-setting one for NSU’s Danielle Robinson (Fr., Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) as she set the new single game record for 3-pointers made with seven against the Spartans. Her 25 total points brought her season average to 13.7 ppg.

Meixandra Porter (Jr., Chantilly, Va.) edges Robinson in points per game, averaging 13.9. Combined, the duo has accounted for 90 of the NSU’s 147 made treys this season. The Sharks have only allowed its opponents to make 89 total triples the entire season.

The Sailfish enter Wednesday’s meeting as losers of five straight, falling on the road to five different SSC opponents. Most recently, PBA dropped a 65-57 in St. Petersburg, Fla. to Eckerd.

Selethia Jackson and Jordan Kong lead the way offensively for the Sailfish. Jackson is averaging 13.2 ppg, while Kong is tallying 11 per contest, as both record right around 35 minutes of court time. Ashley Dolberry is the leading rebounder for the Sailfish, snagging 7.9 rpg. Dolberry also has a team-high 74 offensive boards.

NSU holds a 15-3 advantage in the all-time series with PBA. The Sharks captured a pair of victories against the Sailfish last season, winning first on the road, 76-57, Nov. 23 and then at home Feb. 2, 82-57. Jasmine Wilkins (So., Miami, Fla.) tallied 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor in the Feb. 2 win.

The Sharks have been very successful against out-of-conference foes this season, winning 7-of-9 games against opponents not affiliated with the SSC. NSU will be seeking to match the eight wins against non-conference teams from a season ago Wednesday night against the Sailfish.
